You might have heard of the newest entrant on the pickup market – Great Wall of China.
But Ford found its Transit behind another sort of Great Wall at the Hanover Commercial Vehicle show – made by Volkswagen!
Wags at Ford suggested to our news editor Colin Dawson who was out there covering the event, that it was to do with the fact that VW didn’t want to see – or want show goers to see more likely – the new Transit Custom, which had just been voted International Van of the Year.
Cheeky if true! Colin told me that the VW wall was apparently ‘overheight’ for show regs.
It’s certainly a little … ummm … dominating, as you can see in our picture.
Still, Ford, there’s nothing like being kept in your own walled garden is there? Even when the bricklayer is VW!
