We’re at a moment in time when, having largely completed electrification of their car fleets, many businesses are looking to their light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and wanting to complete a similar transformation. However, for some, the current e-van choices available present some operational issues for their needs, especially around range and payload capabilities.

Recent research from Arval Mobility Observatory showed that 47% of UK fleets planned to adopt electric vans within the next three years. Key reasons behind this decision were the lower environmental impact of electric vehicles (55%), tax incentives (51%), total cost of ownership being in line or lower than petrol or diesel vehicles (50%), reduced fuel expenses (50%), improving company image (40%) and being able to drive in low emissions zones (38%)

Arval trials show big payload impact on the range of electric vans

By |2016-11-17T19:11:59+00:00November 15th, 2016|Van News|

ARVAL trials of payload impact on the range of electric vans show that how far the zero emissions vehicles can go almost halves with a full payload in real world conditions. A typical load for most uses would be much nearer the 50% mark, where the loss of range is much less pronounced. For this reason, we believe the study [...]
