How electric fleets can save tonnes of CO2 emissions

As part of its commitment to electrify Britain, Vauxhall calculated how much CO2 could be saved every year if the country’s van fleet converted into electric Light Commercial Vehicles (e-LCVs) that produce zero tailpipe emissions. Using official UK Government and Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) figures, Vauxhall calculated vans account for 18.2% of the UK’s annual transport related CO2 emissions and 4.6% of the country’s total annual carbon emissions. 

Baxi begins rollout of new E-Van fleet with Novuna

Following an agreement involving Baxi, Greenhous and Novuna Vehicle Solutions, the first batch of vehicles has now been delivered to Baxi, whose Gas Safe registered engineers support residential and commercial customers across the UK. Baxi took delivery of 10 Vivaro Electric vans at Greenhous’ PDI centre in Stoke last week.

Lightfoot helps Co-op to cut fuel costs

To reduce the threat that vans pose to other road users, EURO NCAP and Thatcham Research have released updated ratings for 18 best-selling commercial vans giving `a weighted focus on the ‘active’ crash avoidance systems on vans – systems that help to avoid or reduce the severity of crashes. Police data reveals a third of all tool theft is from vehicles

There were 34,712 tools stolen in London alone from January 2021 to October 2022. That’s a 62% increase on the 21,445 tools stolen from January 2019 to December 2020. Tradespeople are 10 times more likely to experience tool theft from a vehicle than they are from a building site or their place of work – with only 14% of cases leading to the suspect being identified.
