A new Mercedes-Benz Citan for the cost of two bacon butties a day!

The Citan is available in three lengths with load volumes up to 3.84sq m

FANCY driving a Mercedes compact van for the cost of two bacon rolls a day? According to the company, that’s how little the new Mercedes-Benz Citan could set you back.

The new compact Mercedes Citan marks the entry of Mercedes-Benz into the small van market. And the company says its competitive finance packages could allow trades people to run a Citan for as little as £6.95 a day – around the price of a couple of bacon butties.

The Citan is available in three lengths – Compact, Long and Extra Long with load volumes of up to 2.4cu m, 3.1cu m and 3.84cu m respectively. A payload of up to 735kg can be carried and five equipment packs are available.

Prices start from £13,095 for the 108 CDI Compact. The 109 CDI Compact Trade Edition can be purchased for £6.95 per day, or £48.75 per week, equating to 35-monthly payments of £195 after a one-off payment deposit of £585. This is based on a fixed-term Mercedes-Benz Agility finance offer.

Purchased outright, the 109 CDI Compact Trade Edition is available for £13,645. The 108 CDI Long is available from £260 per month, and the 108 CDI Compact BlueEFFICIENCY from £245 per month.

The Citan BlueEFFICIENCY is claimed to set new benchmarks with economy of up to 65.7mpg and COemissions as low as 112 g/km. No other urban delivery van with a combustion engine consumes less fuel or produces lower emissions, says Mercedes-Benz.

The 109 CDI Extra Long Panel Van, equipped with the more powerful 90hp engine, can be purchased using the Agility finance package for £900 deposit and 35 payments of £300 per month. This breaks down to £75 per week or £10.71 per day.

The Citan 108 CDI Compact is available on a fixed-term Agility Contract for a deposit of £720 and 35 monthly payments of £240. This monthly payment equates to £60 per week or £8.57 per day – a little more than £1 an hour during the average working day.

The 108 CDI Compact is available with a recommended retail price of £13,095. Alternatively, the 108 CDI Compact can be financed through Contract Hire at £210 per month.

Model and option prices quoted are ex-factory full list price excluding VAT, business users only. The monthly payment-led finance is based on a Mercedes-Benz Agility Contract Purchase package. Contract Hire customers also benefit from competitive rates – the Citan 109 CDI Compact ‘Trade Edition’ is available with a one-off deposit of £630, followed by 35 monthly payments of £210.
