IMAGINE rocking up to your next job in one of these!
It’s the VW Amarok Power-Pickup and is a new concept from Volkswagen based on the Amarok single-cab model.
The Power-Pickup has been designed as a rolling workshop to carry parts, tools and race equipment and is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine producing 272hp and 600Nm of torque.
It’s got eight-speed automatic transmission with permanent 4MOTION and will rocket from a standing start to 62mph in 7.9 seconds.
Its sporty styling features wide wheelarches to accommodate 22-inch alloy wheels, suspension lowered by 80mm, plus bi-xenon headlamps with chrome surrounds, chrome grille and enlarged lower air intake.
The back end sports a carbon fibre diffuser with dual exhausts pipes, tinted rear lights and black, red and white side decals.
There’s no skimping inside, either.
The dashboard, door trim and Nubuck leather sports seats carry a black, red and white theme. An infotainment system with eight-inch touchscreen and 500-watt sub-woofer supplies the in-car entertainment.
The Amarok Power-Pick-up made its debut at the annual GTI enthusiasts meeting at Lake Wörthersee in Austria recently, where Volkswagen says, it “wowed the crowds”.
