Royal Mail vans: well specified and maintained – and also realistically priced

WITH the recent shares issue in the newly privatised Royal Mail massively over-subscribed, it seems shares are not the only thing from Royal Mail that are much sought after.

There’s been unprecedented buyer interest and activity in recent Royal Mail special van auction sales, according Manheim Commercial Vehicles.

Royal Mail vehicles are always presented with excellent service history and full documentation

As Royal Mail vans are familiar throughout the UK, says Manheim, they are firmly in retail customers’ hearts and minds when selecting used vans for their businesses.

Manheim’s regional commercial vehicle manager Tim Spencer told Business Vans: “Due to historic de-fleet patterns, the market has been starved of Royal Mail vans. Royal Mail vehicles are always presented with excellent service history and full documentation.”

He said buyers knew the vans were well specified and maintained. They are also realistically priced.

“Every auction section is very well attended by buyers and the competition for these vehicles is very strong,” he said. “At a recent sale at Gloucester, two northern buyers travelled more than 150 miles to fight it out with the locals to secure several examples well over reserve.”

Manheim stages special Royal Mail van auctions at its Colchester, Gloucester, Haydock and Leeds auction centres. Vans offered include Vauxhall Combo, Ford Transit 260, LDV Pilot, Convoy and Maxus.
