Continued growth in van sales in June shows ‘strong business confidence’

Demand for new vans in June saw the 17th consecutive monthly increase in LCV registrations

RECESSION or not – you’re still buying vans, with the LCV market in June showing its 17th monthly increase in succession.

Total van registrations rose by 13.5% per cent compared with June 2012, showing “strong business confidence and commitment in the commercial vehicle market”, according to SMMT Chief executive Paul Everitt.

The rolling year total was up by 23.8% compared with the corresponding period in 2012.

Van sales have recovered strongly from the recessionary depths of late 2009 and early 2010. And this trend is reflected across most of Europe, which is a promising sign that the recovery could be robust.
