Nissan to showcase new vehicles at CV Show

Nissan’s first all-electric van, the eNV200, will debut at the CV Show  in April

Nissan will show two very different new vehicles at the CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC (9-11 April).

The Nissan eNV200, Nissan’s first all-electric van, the , will debut at the show. It combines the powertrain of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF car with all the space and practicality of the NV200 compact van.

Mainenance costs are cheaper for the eNV200 – which will surprise some users

With zero emissions, no tailpipe, and energy-recycling regenerative braking, the eNV200 is well suited to urban use. Regenerative braking reclaims energy in the stop-start of city traffic, reducing wasteful energy loss and increasing the efficiency of the van’s driveline.

The eNV200 offers quick charging, and an innovative power outlet that allows the van to act as a power source for tools.

The eNV200 battery can undergo a complete recharge overnight or reach up to 80 per cent capacity in only 30 minutes using a ‘Quick Charger’.

If you work in urban areas and your distances aren’t too great, running an electric van could be a great way to save on fuel. Maintenance costs are also said to be lower than with a conventionally powered vehicle.

Also on show on the Nissan stand will be the new ‘affordable’ version of the Navara double-cab pick-up.

The entry-level Navara Visia is a practical, robust and capable pick-up at a price that should appeal to businesses looking to keep costs down.

The changes are mostly cosmetic. For instance, the interior door handles are finished in black rather than chrome and. Similarly, the front bumper is specified in body colour and not two-tone.

None of the changes affects the pick-up’s functionality and the Navara Visia offers a 2.36sq m load bed and an internal load length of 151mm. It also has a 2600kg towing capacity and a 1250kg maximum payload.

The Navara Visia’s standard specification includes selectable two/four-wheel drive, central door locking, six airbags, air conditioning, a CD player and Bluetooth connectivity.

Nissan’s stand is in Hall 3a (stand number 3A80) and will also display a Cabstar, NV200, NV200 Fridge, NV400 panel van – and a Red Bull Formula 1 car.
