With so many vehicles it was inevitable that the Mercedes presence would include an outside display at the NEC

IT was certainly an impressive site: as you approached the NEC to visit the CV Show, Mercedes had a huge display of it commercial vehicles from panel vans to the Unimog.

In total, there were 53 different commercial vehicles displaying the variety of the product Mercedes has to offer both SME buyers and bigger fleet van operators.

On the stand inside the show hall there were 13 vehicles ranging from Citan to Atcros truck cab.

“I think it just displays the sheer variety we can offer customers,” said Steve Bridge, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

“And it’s not going to stop. Last night I was at a presentation where it was forecast that dot.com deliveries would increase by 2000% over the next 10-15 years, creating bigger demand for vans to carry out deliveries.

“And it’s difficult to predict at what point home delivery growth will ever end.”

Against such a growing and vibrant van market, Steve said we would see the new Mercedes Vito van at the end of March 2015, while the first demonstration Vito vans would arrive in the last quarter of this year.
