FOR some businesses it’s a rugged workhorse, for other owners it’s a lifestyle vehicle, but Ford’s Ranger pick-up has another string to its bow – as a charity supporter.
The beefy Ford 4×4 – which was voted International Pick-up of the Year 2013 – has helped raise more than £1 million for the Macmillan Cancer Support 4×4 Challenge, the world’s longest-running charity off-road event.
The Ford pick-ups provided off-road support for the event organisers and competitors in the endurance challenge, which started at The Craven Arms, Shropshire, and finished 85 miles away in Warrington.
The event’s founder and organiser Selwyn Kendrick told Business Vans: “The Ford Rangers are an essential part of the Mac 4×4 Challenge team, allowing officials to plan the event, cope with the toughest of terrain, and even rescue other vehicles.”
