THE smallest member of the Transit van range has been given welcome extra attitude in the form of a new Ford Transit Courier Sport model.

On sale at the start of May, priced from £14,126 and offered with the choice of 100PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine or the 95PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel – the changes for the Courier Sport are mainly visual.

You certainly won’t miss the Sport’s distinctive racing stripes, 16-inch alloy wheels, colour-keyed bumpers, fog lights and grey door mirror covers on the outside. Inside the sporty feel is carried on with a leather-trimmed steering wheel, air-conditioning and Ford’s latest SYNC infotainment system with DAB radio and a CD player.

Despite the sporty additions, like the rest of the Courier range the Sport has the same 1.6 metre load area, but it does benefit from a full steel bulkhead to aid cabin refinement.
