Prices start from £11,635 for 76mpg Fiesta Van
THE most economical Ford Fiesta Van – the ECOnetic – has now gone on sale with a price tag of £11,635.
Ford claims the super-frugal ‘hatchvan’ will use 35 gallons less fuel in an average year than a previous-generation Fiesta. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions are just 98g/km.
The Ford Fiesta Van ECOnetic has lowered suspension, low rolling resistance tyres, rear wheel air deflectors and a specially-calibrated Duratorq 1.6-litre TDCi with coated diesel particulate filter, which produces 10% less CO2 than the mainstream TDCi unit.
As well as the low CO2 figure, combined fuel economy is 76.3mpg. Other special features include a ‘green’ shift-indicator light and a longer final drive ratio, increased from 3.37 to 3.
Steve Kimber, commercial vehicles director at Ford, said: “Fiesta Van ECOnetic makes a statement as soon as you see it and we know that while professionals are keen to ‘go green’, it’s just as important for them to leave a good impression with their clients.”
Overall, Kimber said Ford expected to sell around 2,500 Fiesta Vans a year, aiming to take around 25% of the car-derived market.
