‘WHAT did it score?’ was the question after a Ford F-150 pick-up first owned by football superstar David Beckham went under the hammer at the first  International Ford Show held over the May bank holiday weekend at Sandown Park, Surrey.

Celebrity guests including Ant Anstead from Channel 4’s For the Love of Cars, Touring Car legend Barrie ‘Whizzo’ Williams and Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell drew big crowds7.

The Ford-only Barons Auction on the Saturday saw some strong prices – a right-hand drive Mustang first owned by the president of Ford of Europe sold for £30,000, a classic 1965 Mustang Coupe went for £26,000.

And that 2002-reg Harley Davidson Edition F-150 pick-up first owned by former England football captain David Beckham? It sold for £11,800.

The two-day show celebrated Ford icons old and new, including a special display to mark 40 years of the Fiesta and a feature celebrating 50 years of the iconic Essex V6 engine, while the very latest Mustang and Focus RS made their UK show debuts.

Event manager Kat Chappell said: “We’re very proud to have added another event to the Ford calendar, and look forward to building on the achievements of The International Ford Show to build an even bigger and better event for next year.”
