I love my job as I get to meet great people, work with a fantastic team and no two days are the same!

CONGRATULATIONS to rising star Kate Thomas of Low Cost Vans for being a finalist in South Wales’ prestigious Women in Business awards.

The rising star award, from South Wales Evening Post & Swansea Bay Business Life, seeks to recognise and reward young women who are growing in business influence in South West Wales.

It is the latest in a string of nominations and awards for this talented marketeer who works tirelessly not only in her marketing role with Low Cost Vans, but also to support other local businesses via networking at the Dylan BNI Business Chapter and other local business networking events.

Kate, who also sings in her spare time with popular local band Double or Nothing, said: “I am completely overwhelmed and ecstatic to be nominated.”

She says: “I love my job as I get to meet great people, work with a fantastic team and no two days are the same!

“In my spare time I spend a lot of time fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society. Over the past 15 years my mum and I have organised events and have raised over £40k for the charity and we show no sign of stopping!

“Our most recent event was a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ theme and it was a 400-seat sellout! We are hoping to go bigger and even better next year.”

She adds: “I also enjoy singing (gigging), shopping, body pump classes, relaxing at home with my boyfriend, and the occasional night out! My motto is ‘You live but once; you might as well be amusing’.”
