IF you’ve been looking for something simple, easy and reassuringly good value to organise all the vans you run as a small business owner, well…look here.

Look at something called ODO. It’s Software as a Service (SaaS) – rather like the accounting service provided by QuickBooks.

But instead of organising your profit and loss, ODO organsises your vans. Who’s driving what, when an MOT is due, service reminders, and perhaps more importantly, checks the driving licences of your staff running around in your vans.

Best of all, it costs so little.

Try it FOC for a month; and thereafter £5 a vehicle, paid by direct debit each month.

For an SME van fleet of five business vans that’s a massively good value £25 a month. And probably £25 well spent to keep you compliant.

There is a simpler £3 a month ‘professional package’ but that doesn’t deliver driver licence checks. Which to stay compliant you would probably need.

ODO’s general manager, Gordon Lyster, said:

“ODO addresses the issues of managing SME van fleets which many small businesses struggle with day to day.

“It helps you track costs, van usage levels, maintenance and servicing records, run driver licence checks and more. The intelligence that ODO provides helps van fleets stay the right side of the law when it comes to compliance and crucially for a firm’s bottom lines it will mean that at last they have a way to keep costs down.”

ODO is a product of automotive tech company Drive Software Solutions which has been handling complex fleet management for large fleets. Partners include data providers cap hpi and Oracle for the cloud based software.

ODO will offer full telematics integration from February and access and input via an easy to use mobile app for iOS and Android devices by June 2018.
