VERSATILITY and pence-per-mile value are behind the choice of Nissan vans, according to two firms that have recently taken on a mix of new Primastars, NV400 and NV200 models.
Both Barker Group Ltd and Vinshire Plumbing and Heating have both ordered Nissan LCVs to add to their fleets.
As well as offering fantastic value for money, we’ve received great early feedback from drivers
Bournemouth-based laundry and dry cleaning firm Barker Group has taken on six Nissan Primastars and one NV400, on a three-year Nissan Business Finance contract hire package.
Nissan Westway Fleet Operations gave a detailed presentation to demonstrate how the vehicles selected offered the best value for pence-per-mile operation.
The vans, sign-written in Barker Group livery, will service clients in the Southern Counties as well as ‘blue chip’ companies in London.

Barker Group managing director Matthew Barker told Business Vans: “We’re excited by the new partnership with Nissan. As well as offering fantastic value for money, we’ve received great early feedback from drivers about the performance and versatility of the vehicles.”
Meanwhile, West Midlands-based Vinshire Plumbing and Heating Ltd has 11 new NV200 models on its fleet. It expects the vans to be in service for five years.
The NV200 vans will be used across the East Midlands by both maintenance and installation engineers. The vehicles used by maintenance engineers will cover up to 20,000 miles annually, with lower mileages from the service engineers’ vehicles.
When choosing the new vans, Vinshire looked for reliability as well as safety and comfort for its drivers.
The company’s quality control manager Simon Burdell told Business Vans: “The NV200s have proved to be a great addition to our fleet and are ideal for the needs of both our maintenance and installation engineers. The feedback has been universally positive so far with the ordering of more vehicles from Nissan a real possibility.”
