Chris Jones: displays Sortimo plug-in racking

Racking system targeted at electricians and tradesmen

Van racking specialist Sortimo has developed a range of plug-in racking modules.

The modules require no drilling of the vehicle body. This means resale values are likely to be higher as there is no body damage from the racking installation.

The durable Sortimo fittings can also be reused in replacement vans, making them even more cost-effective.

The initiative is being targeted at electricians and other trades. It is supported by the National Industrial Council for Electrical Installation Contractors (NICEIC), and by Ford.

A Ford Transit Connect, fitted with the Sortimo racks, is on display at the Interbuild show for the construction industry, National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, October 26-30.

“When we were asked to get involved by the NICEIC we were pleased to accept the challenge,” said Chris Jones, UK sales director, Sortimo. “As well as enhancing safety, the racking and chests also improve working efficiency: engineers can always find the tool they want in its right place.

“The equipment is easy to install or remove and can be created in a bespoke way to suit individual users
