OH goody! A new pick-up is due to be launched in 2020.

A joint agreement has just been signed between PSA Group (Citroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall) and the Chinese company ChangAn Automobile.

It will be a one tonne pick-up and promises to meet worldwide regulations – hopefully a good indicator that we’ll see the new pick-up over here.

Indeed, while the press statement says the new pick-up will be offered to Chinese customers it will be available also PSA Group overseas markets.

Here’s what Patrice Lucas, EVP of programs and strategy at PSA Group had to say:

“This new product, which is complementary to the Peugeot pick-up recently launched in Africa, is in line with the core model strategy of PSA Group and will support our come back on this growing market segment. It will contribute to achieve the objectives set for the Push to Pass plan regarding LCVs with a target to increase volumes by 30% by 2018 and triple overseas volumes by 2021.”

The Peugeot double cab pictured is the model for the African market – we have no idea what the new PSA Group/ChangAn model will look like. But we can’t wait!
