RENAULT Trucks chose the Freight in the City Expo to unveil a host of new vehicles designed to meet the challenges of safer, more efficient and more productive operations in urban areas.

The Freight in the City Expo, held at Alexandra Palace, London on 7th November, was aimed at promoting sustainable urban delivery solutions in an increasingly restrictive environment. This year was the third such event and, alongside their latest HGV vehicles Renault revealed two new additions to its pre-bodied LCV ‘Ready for Business’ Range.

The Renault Trucks Master 3T5 Welfare Van L3H2 is designed to provide a comfortable environment for up to seven people , their tools and personal equipment. A 3.5 tonne weight limit ensures moving people to and from site safely is quick and easy.

The Master Welfare van has been converted by Renault approved Bri-Stor Systems, specialists in LCV conversions. With a fully-equipped rest area with kitchenette, storage and toilet facilities, the Renault Master Welfare Van is set to meet growing demand for versatile vehicles for a range of industries including construction, infrastructure and utilities projects.

There’s plenty of variation in the range to suit a number of uses. The Renault Master Welfare Van is fitted with Renault Trucks’ efficient 145bhp Euro-6 engine and 6-speed gearbox and is available with front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, or a new 4×4 driveline version for hard to reach sites.

As well as the Master Welfare van Renault is also featuring the new Renault Trucks Master Optilogistics on their stand. Specifically designed to meet the challenges of the Parcel and Logistics sector, where operatives can make up to 120 deliveries per day, Renault believe they have developed the ultimate delivery van.

Available as either a 3.5 tonne or 4.5 tonne van 3500kg or 4500kg, and equipped with a host of safety, compliance and efficiency enhancements, the Master Optilogistics promises to meet the most stringent requirements of the logistics business. The additional safety features are designed to keep driver and cargo safe, while the improved efficiency should help reduce costs for operators.

Nigel Butler, Commercial Director at Renault Trucks is suitably enthused by the new vehicles:

“Powered by our latest Euro-6 engine technology which offers exceptional fuel economy, reduced emissions and lower vehicle noise, the Renault Trucks range, from 2.8-tonnes to 44-tonnes, meets the demands of all businesses that deliver in built-up areas.”
