Nice touch: Sevenoaks bought the new vans from Peter Freeman at Haynes Ford – and it was Peter who sold the first Transit in the south-east back in the 1960s
Sevenoaks District Council head of direct services Ian Finch told Business Vans:
“We are very pleased with the first of our new Ford Transit Connects. It is used daily to courier documents and goods around and beyond the district and will help to further reduce the council’s total fleet emissions and fuel usage.”
The new Transit Connect was supplied by Haynes Ford – one of the UK’s oldest-established Ford dealers.
Haynes fleet and municipal consultant Peter Freeman said:
“I sold the first Ford Transit van in the south-east in the 1960s, so it is very pleasing to have taken this order for one of the first of the new Transit Connects almost 50 years on, particularly as the customer is Sevenoaks District Council.”
