Van Monster opens used van operation in Glasgow with new £500,000 depot

VAN Monster, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of used vans and commercial vehicles, is moving its operation in Newmains, Wishaw, to a new £500,000 depot in South East Glasgow.

The new site, on London Road, South East of Glasgow city centre, will service Stirling, Falkirk, Greenock, Kilmarnock and West Lothian, as well as Edinburgh via the M8 commuter route.

Vehicles stocked at the new Glasgow depot include small, medium and large vans from a range of manufacturers such as Ford, Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen, in addition to chassis, tippers and a selection of ex-fleet cars. Van Monster, part of the Northgate group, sells ex-hire vehicles that have been picked from a 60,000-strong fleet.

According to the company, investment in the new site is the result of a year of growth with recent sales figures showing a 17% year-on-year increase.

Gary Sullivan, managing director at Northgate Vehicle Sales (Van Monster), told Business Vans: “We have made a commercial decision to expand the company into new and existing regions in response to the rise in demand for our vehicles, and it is expected that our new strategic location will deliver increased footfall – meaning we can better serve local businesses and existing Van Monster customers in Scotland.”

“As much as we believe our competitive prices play a part in our growth, we are also certain that our continued commitment to quality, customer service and a wide variety of stock has played a huge part in our success over the past 12 months.”

The new Glasgow depot will be Van Monster’s 10th site since its launch in 2004. The existing Newmains site will wind down operations and finally close its doors in March 2013.

Van Monster also has sites selling business vans in Bridlington, Cannock, Colchester, Darlington, Leicester, Newmains, Wakefield, Warrington and Slough.
