The Volkswagen commercial vehicle range
THINKING of buying a T6, Caddy, Amarok or Crafter? Well you’re not alone, as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced that between January and May this year, deliveries are up 3.4 per cent to 184,400 vehicles.
More impressive, is that despite the new Caddy and Transporter being replaced, worldwide deliveries remained largely stable in May at 36,900 vehicles. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle sales also continue to improve in Western Europe, with a total of 25,300 vehicles, and an increase of 0.7 per cent. Biggest growth areas were Italy with 800 vehicles, a 50 per cent increase, the Netherlands with an increase of 25.5 per cent increase and 1,300 units and finally, the UK with 4,500 deliveries, which is an increase of 21.2 per cent.
Despite these increases, at the same time, the Hannover and Poznan plants have retooled and successfully started production of the all-new Caddy and T6 vans.
