YOUR choice of van is now a little broader thanks to a series of new models joining the latest Volkswagen Crafter range.
When the Crafter was launched in April it only came in front-wheel drive versions up to 3.5 tonne with a choice of three engines and a manual gearbox. The new models now bring available gross vehicle weights up to 5.0 tonnes and offer a wider body range.
The range of panel vans has been extended with 4MOTION all-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox now available. The Volkswagen Crafter can now also be specified in open body models with both single and double cab variants.
The panel van was already available in three vehicle lengths and three roof heights, now the choice of engines and drives is extended to offer even more flexibility and customisation.
The open body models can also benefit from Volkswagen’s Commercial Vehicles’ Recognised Converter scheme. The new open body Crafter models are the ideal base for conversion to Luton, dropside, tipper, or any other type of van you could have reason to consider.
We expect the interiors to offer the same level of comfort and convenience already seen in the first models. Available in three trim levels with a useful range of standard equipment including mobile phone interface, Front Assist including city emergency braking system, Hill Start Assist, and engine stop/start function to improve efficiency. Cross wind assist for closed body vans and a driver alert system are also standard.
The Volkswagen Crafter range can also be specified with satellite navigation, adaptive cruise control, 20-way adjustable seats, parking sensors, and lots of other driver aids. It’s also crammed full of storage space for all the stuff you need to get through the working day.
Prices for the entry-level Volkswagen Crafter Startline Panel Van start at £24,640. The starting price for the Crafter with eight-speed automatic gearbox is £30,385; £30,590 for rear-wheel drive; and £34,145 for 4MOTION four-wheel drive.
