New Crafters will be Euro 6 compliant for selected medium and long wheelbase models

THE new VW Crafter line-up now meets the most stringent European exhaust exhaust standards for commercials with the introduction of Euro 6 engine technology.

According to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, this puts the VW Crafter panel van, chassis and double-cab models among the cleanest and most refined vehicles in their classes.

The strict Euro 6 limits have been met by the addition of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems, plus a built-in diesel particulate filter which works to purify exhaust emissions and almost eradicate particulate matter.

The Euro 6 range is available on selected Crafter models in medium and long wheelbases with EU kerbweights between 2355kg and 2815kg.

The technology is offered with Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre TDI engine, which is new to the Crafter range, in outputs of either 163hp or 114hp. The 114hp Euro 6 engine can also be specified with Volkswagen’s BlueMotion Technology, providing fuel economy of up to 35.3mpg (combined) and emissions of 210g/km.

Prices start at just under £30,000 (ex-VAT) for the LWB chassis cab version rising to £35,200 for the LWB Maxi with 163PS.
