The new Mercedes Vito looks more like the outgoing van from the back

1. Front and rear-wheel drive chassis options

“This equals more choice and will give more options for new Vito buyers.

“The new front-wheel drive option will suit urban buyers, while proven rear-wheel drive, will be the obvious option for those carrying heavy weights or towing.”

2. Fuel consumption

“49.56mpg from the 160bhp, 2.1-litre in the new Vito is a 20% better than the current van and unmatched in this category of van.

3. Whole life cost

“Germany is already predicting an improvement in residuals between two and five per cent for new Vito.

“We’re already competitive, although not quite at the top. Current thinking is, the new Vito will take us back there.”

4. Safety

The new Vito’s got lots of new tech as standard including Attention Assist and Crosswind Assist – both unique in this class.

“This is on top of Active Parking Assist, that debuted on Sprinter.”
