Volkswagen Caddy Mark 4

What’s not

As my editor insists on a “what’s not” list even when I have nothing to complain about, I will oblige – and at the same time apologise to Volkswagen for picking the smallest nits imaginable. The Caddy really is that good.

  • Although the Caddy is available as a crewvan with seating up to seven people, it doesn’t offer as third seat option at the front, as does the rival Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.
  • The Caddy is rather lacking in plastic padding round the edges, which means it may well suffer a few knocks and bumps in a busy urban life.

Verdict on the new Volkswagen Caddy

Quality shouts from every corner of the new Caddy. German manufacturers like Volkswagen seem to be able to make cars and vans like no-one else and well deserve their legendary reputation. The new van drives well, looks good – and as we already know, carries well too. It looks like another VW winner – but we need to find out prices first.
