These long trips have made me appreciate again how comfortable and car-like this Caddy is to drive. It is still proving to be good on diesel too, without really trying I still managed 430 miles out of my second tank – but it is not without a couple of gripes. Refined on the motorway, I think it could be further improved with a sixth gear, a DAB radio would relieve the tedium of the FM channel choice and hooking up the Bluetooth to play music through my iPhone is fiddly.

I’m certainly looking forward to month 3, no other long-termer I’ve ever had, has had such a positive reaction from fellow drivers – I just hope it’s less action-packed!
