Awww! Scottish SPCA now has more Citroen vans to take on its animal rescue work

THE Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is adding another 70 Citroen vans to its fleet.

As a charity, we appreciate the low operating costs of these vans

The new vans, most of  them Citroen Berlingos, will be used for animal rescue and re-homing work.

In addition a number of Citroen Relay and Dispatch models will be fitted out with specialised flooring, animal cages, washing stations, and search lights for night-time rescues.

The Citroen Berlingos will cover up to 30,000 miles a year so the van’s low running and whole life costs were a major factor in choosing them said the Scottish SPCA.

The vans are being supplied by Park’s Motor Group and will be financed on 3-year contract hire agreements through SG Fleet.

Scottish SPCA Finance Manager John Allan said, “When we considered the choice of manufacturer for this latest van order, we had no hesitation in continuing our long relationship with Citroen.

“As a charity, we appreciate the low operating costs of these vans, which enable the Society to spend more on our core animal rescue activity.”
