TOYOTA’S van division likely believes its latest customer has seen the light in choosing to go with the brand for the first time – Challenger Lighting Services having ordered eight examples of the latest Toyota Proace van.
The vans will go into service with the lighting design and installation specialist’s teams working across the south of England, and in further news to brighten Toyota’s day, Challenger will be buying a dozen more by the end of 2014.
Challenger, based in Gosport, Hampshire, has chosen the long wheelbase/standard height (L2/H1) Toyota Proace, capable of taking up to 1.2 tonnes worth of light fittings and other equipment needed by the firm’s installation and maintenance teams.
Each will be fitted out with specialist racking and finished in Challenger’s corporate livery.
The vans are powered by the mid-range diesel engine in the Proace range, the 126bhp 2.0-litre that returns official fuel consumption figures of 44.1mpg.
When are you going to do a van reliability test, especially on vehicles over 2 years old?
We are all in business to make money not spend a fortune on vans that don’t work and cost a fortune to repair outside the guarantee.
