The Citan joins Chimflue’s existing Mercedes vans and will be used for some of the company’s smaller jobs

WHEN it comes to business vans, flue and chimney systems specialist Chimflue likes to keep things in the family. The Andover-based company, which is celebrating its Silver Anniversary, has recently added another Mercedes-Benz to its van line-up in the shape of a Mercedes Citan 109 CDI Long.

Chimflue, which specialises in the distribution, design, fabrication and installation of flue and chimney systems, already runs a medium-length Mercedes Sprinter and long-bodied Vito. The vans are assigned to two-man installation teams and regularly used to tow a ‘cherry picker’.

The bigger Sprinter is also used to carry scaffold towers, pallets, flexible liners and larger equipment. The company also runs another Vito, a Dualiner model with second row of seats, which it uses regularly to support project work.

The new Mercedes Citan – the first small van from Mercedes-Benz and which can deliver up to 65.7mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 112g/km – will be used by a team that undertakes smaller installations, as well as carrying out ‘snagging’ jobs.

Chimflue managing director Sam Ford told Business Vans: “We’ve been growing strongly over the last few years and doing so in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, whose vans are fit for purpose, reliable and cost-effective to operate.”
