Delivery firm takes on 200th Citroen Relay

The new vans will carry out up to 100 deliveries a day and cover around 120,000 miles during their four years’ service

IF your business delivered 3000 parcels a day, what van would you choose?

The UK’s largest next-day parcel delivery network, APC Overnight, is clearly in no doubt as it’s just added the 200th Citroen Relay to its van line-up.

The Relays will cover 120,000 miles during their 4 years’ service

The 200th model, a Relay 35 L3H2 130 six-speed manual, was among five purchased by Delivered, one of APC Overnight’s largest members. The courier firm has depots in Reading, Slough and High Wycombe.

The new vans are due for a life of intensive stop/start operations, carrying out up to 100 deliveries a day and covering around 120,000 miles during their four years’ service.

Delivered handles APC Overnight’s consignments in Berkshire, Buckingham and Herefordshire as well as West London.

In addition to the standard equipment, which includes Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking, the new Relays have rear parking sensors, Bluetooth connection and a full steel bulkhead.

The Relays were supplied by Citroen Coventry in full APC Overnight livery.

Delivered group operations manager Martin Cavendish told Business Vans: “These latest Citroens are the first we have bought through the special APC Overnight members’ arrangement with Citroen Coventry.

“This allows us to buy our new Relays and operate them for four years, which is advantageous for our business van finance, saving money compared with leasing or contract hiring other makes of vehicle.”
