Energy Saving Trust: targeting small business

Free CO2-reducing advice could save up to £45,000

Small business company car fleets are being targeted by the Energy Saving Trust.

A new Energy Saving Trust campaign is encouraging small businesses to consider the impact of their company cars on the environment.

A recent study by the Energy Saving Trust found that businesses could save £2.6 billion a year by adopting green fleet policies. While a fleet of 50 vehicles could save up to £45,000 a year by implementing green fleet policies.

“Companies with smaller fleets cannot justify a fleet manager and will not have anyone focused on their fleet full time,” said Nigel Underdown, head of transport advice, Energy Saving Trust.

“The Energy Saving Trust is here to fill that expert role for companies with fewer than 50 vehicles. We can provide access to experts who can offer impartial advice, tailored to your individual business needs.

“I would urge all small businesses to take advantage of this free service and save money as well as the environment.”

Energy Saving Trust small business fleet advice includes:

  • best ways to reduce vehicle emissions;
  • cut fleet operating costs; and
  • improve a company’s social and environmental reputation.
