Burnt Tree specialist refrigerated commercial vehicles – now part of Enterprise

THE daily rental company Enterprise Rent-A-Car has bought Burnt Tree, a supplier of van rental vehicles to both SME companies and public sector organisations.

Enterprise says the acquisition will broaden its customer offering under its its flexible commercial vehicle hire division, Flex-E-Rent.

The purchase includes Burnt Tree’s 17,000 vehicles, including its specialist refrigerated vans and trucks.

While Burnt Tree will continue to operate its network of 20 branches and 400 employees,Enterprise says it will eventually combine its operations which will be headquartered at Burnt Tree’s Shrewsbury base.

The purchase increases Enterprise’s fleet of commercial vans and trucks to in excess of 25,000.

Mike Nigro, Enterprise managing director, said: “We are committed to the growth of our flexible commercial vehicle business, which has grown organically in recent years.

“Burnt Tree has some unique expertise that it can bring to Enterprise and it will also benefit from becoming part of a truly global organisation. The combined business post-acquisition will be far stronger with greater economies of scale and better technology, while the transfer of knowledge will allow us to better serve our customers.”
