New Fiat Doblo XL

With an increase in load volume, ease of loading, low fuel consumption and reduced operating costs, Fiat believes the Doblo XL will appeal to a variety of business van users

Fiat has expanded its Doblo Cargo van range with the introduction of the Doblo XL version.

The new model, following on from the Doblo Work Up, launched last year, offers a combination of long wheelbase and high roof.

The Fiat Doblo XL provides a 5cu m load capacity and 1,000kg payload – a configuration said to be previously unavailable in this segment.

According to Fiat, the new Fiat Doblo XL is best in class for payload and volume and best in class for load compartment dimensions (length and height).

The Doblo XL Cargo versions are powered by a choice of three Euro 5 turbodiesel engines:

  • 1.6 MultiJet 105hp,
  • 1.6 MultiJet 90hp MTA and
  • 2.0 MultiJet 135hp.

Combi versions will be available with the 2.0 MultiJet 135hp only.

The New Fiat Doblo XL will be available in Cargo N1, Combi N1 and M1 versions and as with the existing Doblo Cargo and Combi range, the Doblo XL will be available in two trim levels.

In addition, Combi M1 versions will have side airbags and ESP as standard equipment.

Options include Blue&Me with steering wheel controls, Blue&Me TomTom navigator and eco:Drive Professional software.

The New Fiat Doblo XL is available to order now with pricing starting at £15,765.00 (basic) for the Doblo XL Cargo Base 1.6 MultiJet 16v Diesel 105, rising to £19,045.00 (basic) for the DobloXL Combi SX M12.0 MultiJet 16v Diesel.

Fiat Professional UK Director Sebastiano Fedrigo told Business Vans: “The addition of the new Doblo XL to the award-winning Doblo Cargo range is another step in our commitment to provide customers with more capable vehicles while maintaining best-in-class running costs, along with innovative and practical environmentally friendly solutions to carry out their business.”

The new Doblo XL version sits between the purpose-built van and small panel van segments and is expected to attract business van users from the latter as it offers the same load capacity and payload (1 tonne) but at a lower price.
