FARMER Gwenno Pugh has become the first woman to win the popular Welsh TV farming reality show Fferm Ffactor – and bag a brand new Isuzu D-Max pick-up as the prize.
Twenty-eight-year-old Gwenno, who farms cattle, sheep and pigs in Talsarnau, Gwynedd, beat other contestants in the finale which took place at Anglesey Showground, Mona.
It’s been an unforgettable experience and a privilege to become the first woman to win Fferm Ffactor
Her prize Isuzu D-Max Yukon will not only prove useful as a workhorse around the farm – it’s also well equipped for everyday transport with air conditioning, remote central locking with alarm, cruise control and surround sound audio system.
The D-Max is also fitted with 17in alloys wheels and side steps as well as high-visibility projector headlamps and LED rear light clusters.
“I didn’t expect this at all,” Gwenno told Business Vans. “I was hoping to become the first female contestant to reach the final but to go one extra step and actually win is an unbelievable feeling.
“It’s been an unforgettable experience and a privilege to become the first woman to win Fferm Ffactor. And I’m look forward to using my new Isuzu D-Max every day.”
Isuzu UK general manager William Brown said: “We hope Gwenno’s new D-Max proves itself to be an invaluable companion across the rugged terrain of north Wales. Isuzu is a strong supporter of the farming industry and we will again be involved with the Fferm Factor series in 2014.”
The Isuzu D-Max range includes single-, extended- and double-cab body variants. Double-cab models are available in four specifications: Isuzu D-Max, Eiger, Yukon and Utah with prices from at £14,749 (CVOTR) for the entry-level Isuzu D-Max 4×2 single cab, increasing to £23,649 (CVOTR) for the top-of-the-range Isuzu D-Max Utah 4×4 double-cab automatic.
