EUROPEAN production of an exciting new van from Hyundai will get UK SMEs salivating at the prospect of its five-pallet carrying capacity.
Hyundai has confirmed production has begun this week of its new H350, the company’s first multi-purpose light commercial vehicle.
We saw the first hints that the van may be Britain-bound during a sneak-peak launch last autumn.
Designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, the 3.5 tonne H350 boasts a whopping 12.9 m3 of stowage space and will be available in a choice of 5.5m or 6.2m long versions with and the unique ability to carry five Euro-standard pallets.
The Karsan Automotive plant in Bursa, Turkey, will also build the flexible H350 Chassis-cab for customised bodywork for cargo boxes up to 4.0m long and 2.32m wide.
Byung Tae Yea, executive vice-president of Hyundai said: “With the start of production of the All-new H350 today, Hyundai Motor will begin to play a key role in the European commercial vehicle sector. This portion of the market is forecast to grow significantly over the next few years, so now is the right time for Hyundai Motor to enter Europe’s big van segment. Built in Europe, the H350 has been developed and tailored to meet the specific needs of most demanding customers across the region.”
Sales of the H350 will start in Turkey during May with availability in eight other European countries starting from June, before expanding further across Europe in 2016.
