Ford goes hi-tech with Transit Connect range

MyKey enables owners to programme a key – usually for younger drivers – that restricts the top speed and reduces the maximum volume of the audio system. MyKey can disable the audio system altogether if driver and passengers are not using safety belts, and can prevent the driver from deactivating safety technologies.

Both models also offer automatic braking technology Active City Stop, with the five-seat Tourneo Connect achieving a unique-in-segment five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

As well as the connectivity technologies on Transit Connect,at the same time, Ford is introducing the new high-efficiency 1.5litre TDCi diesel which meets Euro VI emissions standard and is launched in two phases.

A fuel-efficient 100PS Econetic version, with Auto-Start-Stop and active Grille Shutter technology as standard will also be available. Ford’s multi-award-winning and highly efficient 1.0-litre petrol alternative is now also available for the Transit Connect too. Boasting 100PS and 170Nm of torque, emissions are just 129g/km and combined fuel economy is an impressive 50.4mpg.
