Car-like inside, and with plenty of ‘mobile office’ features including a new Device Dock for charging phones, sat navs and tablets

The Courier is powered by a choice of 1.6-litre diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoost engines, or a 75hp 1.5-litre diesel.

The 95hp 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi engine has stated combined cycle fuel consumption of 76.3mpg with 97g/km CO2 emissions, and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost offers 54.3mpg and 119g/km CO2 when equipped with Auto-Start-Stop, which is said to be 15% better than the closest rival. Auto-Start-Stop is an option with all models.

According to Ford, the 75hp 1.5-litre diesel beats all rivals on economy and emissions with 72.4mpg (combined cycle) and 103g/km CO2.

As standard, the Electronic Stability Control system includes Hill Start Assist, Traction Control and Roll-Over Mitigation. Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance, which assists occupants call the local emergency services operator in the event of an accident, as well as Speed Limiters, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and a rear-view camera are options.

The Commercial Kombi has a comprehensive restraint system with side curtain airbags, knee airbags and second-row seat belt-minders as well as   driver, passenger and side thorax airbags.

The cabin is car-like and comfortable and has  a range of stowage features including a large centre console to hold A4 documents and small laptops, a full-width overhead stowage shelf, and a drawer under the front passenger seat.

A new Device Dock feature allows drivers to store, mount and charge mobile devices such as phones and navigation systems.
