FORD has already won plaudits for the new Ford Transit, Transit Custom and Transit Connect, and now the company can add another victory to its list of accolades – a double win in the gruelling Arctic Van Test.

The Ford Transit and Ford Transit Connect finished first in their respective classes after taking part in the arduous five-day trial that subjects vehicles and drivers to gruelling challenges in ice, cold and snow, in the frozen north of Finland where temperatures can fall as low as -50 C.

In tests including slaloming across a frozen airfield, and tackling a 700km route of icy, rutted roads, the Ford Transit vans won for their overall performance across categories that included fuel efficiency, load carrying, and handling.
