Hyundai iLoad: January launch for new panel van

New Hyundai panel van launches next year

Hyundai is returning to the panel van market in January 2009.

Its new contender is called iLoad, a rear-drive medium-sized van.

Hyundai says the iLoad will feature class-leading levels of specification and a long warranty – probably five years.

The Hyundai iLoad will feature twin side-doors and twin side-opening rear doors as part of the standard equipment package. It will be powered by a 116PS 2.5-litre common-rail diesel engine.

Hyundai will announce full spec and price details in the new year. But versions of the iLoad already on offer in other markets have a maximum load length of 2,375mm, while cargo width and height are 1,620mm and 1,350mm respectively.

The Hyundai iLoad can take a standard pallet between the wheel arches. The load bed is long enough for two pallets.

Depending on the variant, kerb weight ranges from 1,943kg to 2,171kg and payload ranges from 1,055kg to 1,132kg. Braked towing capacity is 2 tonnes.
