CHECK this out for your future delivery service vehicle: the I.D. BUZZ CARGO, a concept version of the original Bulli that was recently shown at the Los Angeles Show in the US.

Not only is the BUZZ CARGO van fully electric, but there’s a CARGO e BIKE – an innovative, electric cargo three-wheeler for the city which could be brilliant for that last mile delivery.

Dr Thomas Sedran, Chairman of the Brand Board of Management announced at the presentation:

“With the I.D. BUZZ CARGO, we are ultimately launching Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles into the new age of electric mobility and autonomous driving. This car has great potential for global success as a zero-emission transporter. This design icon is also giving electric mobility an unmistakable face.”

The I.D. BUZZ CARGO concept is the first van to be based on the new modular electric drive matrix (MEB) that Volkswagen has created for its cars.

It means the vehicle can be fitted with different size batteries. VW says this will range from over 200 miles to more than 350 miles driving range.

So when can you get your hands on this electric driving tech for your deliveries in the future? Glad you asked.

Expect the I.D. BUZZ CARGO around 2022. So you’ve got a bit of time to think about how you’ll transition to electric. On the other hand, VW says the CARGO e BIKE will hit the market next year in 2019.

Jump on and get peddling for the last mile delivery with this VW electric cargo bike
