Iveco Dailys help Dyson turn up the heat

The 12cu m Dailys will be used for five years, clocking up around 18,650 miles a year

DO you need a beefy new van for your fleet? Perhaps a new Iveco Daily fit the bill?

It certainly has for domestic heating firm Dyson Energy Services. In fact 20 new Iveco Daily 35S11 vans to be precise.

And they like them so much there’s another 15 Iveco Daily 35S11 vans  on order.

So what makes the Iveco Daily so good for the West Yorkshire firm’s expanding business plans?

Well, apart from operating Iveco vans for more than 10 years on its 200-strong fleet, Dyson Energy Services said that recent interior upgrades to the Iveco Daily’s interior had made a big difference.

The changes include:

  • Reduced interior noise
  • An upgraded interior
  • New adjustable steering column
  • Greater range of seat adjustment
  • Improved dashboard
  • And a new gear lever housing that aids cross-cab access.

The new 3.5-tonne Iveco Daily vans, supplied by Northern Commercials, feature a 3,300mm wheelbase and are powered by a 2.3-litre FPT Industrial engine with 106hp and 270Nm of torque driven through a five-speed manual box.

The 12cu m vans go into service across Dyson’s nine depots for five years, and will clock up around 18,650 miles a year with a two-man crew.

Dyson Energy Services director in charge of business van management, Ian Morrall, told Business Vans: “We’ve been running Dailys for years as they are reliable, competitive on fuel and the perfect size for our business vans. They are also popular with drivers; especially these latest models, which have added driver comforts and an improved driving position.”
