Iveco provides new steeds for White Knight
The new 3.5-tonne Daily panel vans have been finished in White Knight’s unmissable new purple livery

NEED a large van, but also one which is manoeuvrable enough for around-town multiple drops and collections?

That’s the main requirement for launderers and dry-cleaners White Knight Laundry Services, which has mostly commercial customers, including hotels, restaurants, hospitals and schools around Reading and London.

The Daily is big and roomy, but still highly manoeuvrable

The company has just taken delivery of six new Iveco Daily 3.5-tonne long wheelbase 35S13 panel vans for the job – replacing six older Dailys, which had been in service for five years.

The new Dailys have a 3950mm wheelbase and medium height roof, providing 15.6cu m of loadspace and a potential payload of more than 1.2 tonnes. Inside it’s 1.9m high, so the tallest drivers can move around freely.

The back doors are 1.8m high and fold right back against the sides of the van – there’s also a sliding side door.

They all have the ‘Daily Plus’ options pack, which adds cruise control, provision for a TomTom navigation unit, heated electric mirrors and an additional storage shelf.

White Knight expects the Dailys to be used for about five years, on the road between five and six days a week, each covering up to 50,000 miles annually.

White Knight Laundry Services transport manager Richard Bucksey told Business Vans: “We’ve purchased Iveco Daily vans several times before. They are the perfect size for our requirements, have always been very reliable and are popular with our drivers.

“We must be able to reach places with limited access, particularly in the centre of London. Despite being such a large van, the Daily’s tight turning circle and excellent all-round visibility means we haven’t found a customer’s site we can’t access yet. The Daily’s manoeuvrability has been a key factor in our decision to keep buying our business vans from Iveco.”
