If your business runs several vans, expect a few phone calls from the leasing companies.

Because they’re getting ready for a bit of van expansion.

The UK’s biggest contract hire company, Lex Autolease, has just promoted Marcus Puddy to commercial vehicle director while it’s actively hiring a senior commercial vehicle consultant, and two commercial vehicle consultants.

“The credit constrained market is increasingly shifting customers away from outright purchase towards contract hire in order to release capital and overhaul ageing van fleets,” said Marcus on his appointment.

  • Leasing firms Zenith and Lex Autolease are both turning their attention to the business van market

“We are responding to this trend with a new commercial vehicle offer which will provide a one stop shop for everything from basic contract hire through to highly complex vehicle conversions and consultancy.”

With credit tight, van users are looking to contract hire to update ageing van fleets

But it’s not only Lex that’s building its business van team. Leasing firm Zenith wants to put is commercial vehicle team in the ascendancy, too.

It has recruited Ryan Long, former head of Lombard Vehicle Management’s vans team, as its LCV general sales manager.

Ryan has been tasked with developing Zenith’s business van proposition and supply chain to further evolve the Zenith commercial vehicle presence.
