BUYING a van for a specialist business, and then fitting it out with all the infrastructure needed to do the job, is a huge financial outlay, especially for a SME.
But now Lex Autolease believes it has the answer.
The UK’s largest vehicle leasing firm has launched ‘Driveaway vans’, a new range of commercial vehicles pre-fitted with racking and storage solutions for the electrical, joinery and plumbing trades.
The purpose-vehicles can be used as soon as they are delivered – so no waiting while your pristine new van undergoes an expensive conversion.
Lex Autolease is working with van manufacturers Vauxhall and Fiat and racking experts Tevo to launch the initial Driveaway vans. Place an order and the van will be delivered within 14 and 21 days.
According to Lex Autolease, ordering a Driveaway van instead of leasing and converting a vehicle separately can cut a fifth from a company’s vehicle costs.
A range of industry-standard internal specifications are on offer, and can be fitted to a wide choice of vehicles including the Fiat Cargo, Doblo and Scudo, and the Vauxhall Combo, Vivaro and Movano vans.
Lex Autolease will be showing the Driveaway van range on its stand during the CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC from 29th April to 1st May. The company also plans to widen the range later in the year, to include vehicles from additional manufacturers and bespoke internal specifications for minibuses and welfare vans.
According to Lex Autolease Commercial Vehicles Director Marcus Puddy, the Driveaway range is a new and innovative solution for businesses facing continual pressure to manage costs and increase productivity.
“This service will enhance our overall offering, giving customers easy and affordable access to the essential equipment they need to fulfil their day to day requirements,” Puddy says.
“The feedback we received from customers during the trial period was very positive. In particular the absence of long lead-times which typically accompanies standard van conversions, has proved to be a highly attractive proposition for businesses.”
