Matt Dale, who was formerly in charge of Lombard Vehicle Finance’s Van Unit, has joined Nissan.
Nissan says that Matt’s appointment – as its new national LCV sales manager – will help reinforce Nissan’s presence in the van market and help grow its LCV sales and market share.
Matt comes with an impressive track record. At Lombard he grew the business van fleett from 500 to 23,000 commercial vehicles in just 10 years working with major fleet customers such as BSkyB, British Gas and the AA, as well as introducing such SME focused products as Trade Vans – designed to suit each trade profession, such as plumber and electrician, fully kitted out and ready to roll with a lease price to match.
“We are looking to become a serious player in the van fleet market and we have already made great inroads in building an infrastructure to achieve this goal,” said Matt.
“The next stage is to further build and support the LCV dealer network, refine and improve our aftersales proposition and develop our bodybuilder and converter programme following the launch of the NV400 chassis cab range at the CV show,” he added.
Nissan has one of the most extensive light commercial ranges in the UK and Dale believes it is already surprising a few people.
“We are building strength and reliability at every company van touch point that matches our product range,” he added.
In other business van news, Nissan reported a 74 per cent increase in light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales in 2011 compared with 2010 – a significant upswing in the business van market. Nissan expects to further increase its impact in the business van market now that it has appointed Matt Dale from Lombard.
