Merceds, Vito, versions, parked

The new Vito is now offered with a choice of front or rear-drive versions

On the safety front as standard is:

  • Adaptive ESP, which helps stops sideways skids  (also standard on the old model)
  • Crosswind Assist and Attention Assist, which alerts the driver if it feels he or she is drifting off;
  • Tyre pressure monitoring will also be a standard fitment

 Safety options include:

  • Active Parking Assist,
  • Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist

We’ve tested these options on the current Sprinter and jolly useful they are too.

The new Mercedes Vito also has up to eight airbags available – another record for the sector.

The new Mercedes Vito will feature two wheelbase, three lengths and three weight variants.

All three lengths are 14 centimetres longer than the preceding model at 4,895 mm, 5,140 mm and 5,370 mm.

The maximum vehicle height is 1,910 mm depending on the model.

Consequently all new Mercedes Vito variants are below the important two-metre mark and therefore fit standard multi-storey/underground car parks and automatic car washes.

Gross vehicle weights go from 2.8 tonnes to 3.2 tonnes.

Cargowise, the Mercedes Vito with a gross vehicle weight of 3.0 tonnes has an impressive payload of 1,289 kg. The champion of its class is the rear-wheel drive Mercedes Vito with a gross vehicle weight of 3.2 tonnes, which has a payload of 1,369 kg – a sector leader.

UK prices and specifications for the new Mercedes Vito will be announced nearer the launch date.
