To qualify as a Van ProCenter dealers will have to match 50 service and sales criteria

FORD did it first with its Transit Centres – now Mercedes-Benz is following suit by offering its LCV customers specialist levels of service to much higher standards.

there must be an extensive range of top-quality used vans on offer too

Two of the brand’s British van dealers have been selected to pilot the Van ProCenter scheme – a standards programme that Mercedes-Benz intends to roll out in key markets across the globe.

Ciceley Commercials in northern England and Scotland, and Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van Northern Ireland are testing the programme that it is hoped to extend across the 80-strong Mercedes-Benz UK van network by the end of the year.

To gain Mercedes Van ProCenter accreditation, the dealers are faced with meeting more than 50 strict standards that affect every part of their daily business.

Essential qualifications include extended opening hours to make life easier for business customers, and dealership staff who have been trained to a degree that they can offer expert advice to any van customer that might come through the door – whatever their specialist need.

Lined up and ready to go at each Mercedes Van ProCenter must be a wide selection of top notch demonstration and display vehicles, and there must also be an extensive range of top-quality used vans on offer too.

Service customers should expect to be attended to by specialist advisors and technicians, and should also be able to have their vehicle collected from and delivered back to them. They should also be able to use a replacement vehicle while theirs is having work done.

Achieve Mercedes Van ProCenter accreditation and a dealer will unlock additional investment, support and training from Mercedes-Benz UK. Standards must be maintained, however, and Mercedes-Benz will be auditing each dealer annually to make sure.

Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Managing Director Steve Bridge reckons that by launching the Van ProCenters, the brand is adding to an already impressive van package.

“This dealer excellence programme ensures the highest possible quality across all dealers, with strict criteria to meet so that Mercedes-Benz Van customers can be assured of the best levels of service in the industry,” Bridge says.
