• New 2-tonne Ford Transit to make global debut at Hannover show
  • Ford says new Transit delivers improved fuel efficiency, better payload, plus segment-first 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) technology
  • Plus Hannover will also see new Transit Custom plug-in hybrid (PHEV) production model prior to 2019 launch

FORD fans watch out for Hannover Show, Germany’s big CV event (September 20-27, 2018): Ford will be debuting its new 2-tonne Transit there.

Not only that, but Ford will be showing us its new connectivity advancements – including on-board modems that will feature in the new 2-tonne Transit.

There will be electrification too. New Transit will be shown with a segment-first 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrain (for an explanation of MHEV see The different types of electric vehicle).

The smaller Ford Transit Custom plug-in hybrid (PHEV) will also make its show debut in production form – we saw the trial prototype earlier this year at the CV Show following its reveal at the CV Show in 2017.

Hans Schep, General Manager, Commercial Vehicles at Ford of Europe said:

“Hannover will mark the arrival of an exciting new family of Transit commercial vehicles that are ‘born connected’. Advanced connectivity, and our game-changing electrified vehicles, will create extensive new opportunities to create value for our customers.”
