THIS is the new Citroen Berlingo van.

Well, not quite.

There’s too much glass, of course. It could do with a bit more tin for our liking.

But what it does give is a good idea of what the new Citroen Berlingo van will look like.

Because this is the new Berlingo in activity / MPV leisure guise.

Citroen is keeping tight-lipped on when we’ll see the proper version, but for now we can glean some useful intel.

There’s 2.70 m of load space with the seats all down; it’s based on a brand new platform and there’s plenty of connectivity and driver-assistance technologies.

The new Berlingo is available in two sizes, M and XL, measuring 4.40m and 4.75m long – which is slightly longer than current Berlingo.

There are also latest-generation engines such as the new BlueHDi 1.5 Diesel, and PureTech 1.2 petrol – will Citroen see a market for this in the van for urban deliveries; or leave it to an electric version?

We just don’t know. But this new Berlingo Multispace version will be shown at Geneva (March) for the first time before going on sale in Q3. Perhaps we’ll learn more about the van version then.

Or maybe at the CV Show in April?
